Documentation Specialist

We have an immediate need for an experienced Technical/Engineering Documentation Specialist to perform a range of responsibilities related to technical project reports, proposals, marketing and training materials. This work involves significant collaboration with team members to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products in accordance within-house style guides and client requirements. This is initially a 3 to 6 month position with the possibility of full-time employment based in our Headquarters in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews business documentation for completeness and accuracy, grammar, presentation and adherence to Corporate Identity guidelines, and follows-up with engineering staff on necessary corrections and/or modifications
  • Ensures technical documentation is accurate and complete; meets editorial and client specifications; and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, format and style
  • Assists engineers and Accounting with project set-up and initiation
  • Performs filing, archiving, cataloguing and retrieving of all the electronic and hard copy project files stored on and off premises according to corporate procedures
  • Performs CRM data collection, input and management
  • Maintains various SharePoint and CRM operations up to date

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 yrs technical/engineering documentation formatting experience
  • Minimum 3 yrs advanced MS Office experience; in-depth knowledge of Word styles and templates
  • Good working knowledge of MS Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Above average writing skills and the ability to work with technical literature
  • Ability to work both alone or as a member of a cross-functional project team
  • Detail oriented
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record; possession of an active U.S. Passport
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Computer graphics
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • MS Dynamics CRM
  • Technical, engineering or Oil and Gas industry exposure
