User Group for API RBI Software
About the User Group
API RBI software licensees participate in two annual User Group meetings with their peers to discuss the software and technology updates, and share their experiences in the field. These meetings are held in Houston, Texas in the spring and fall.
The API RBI Project started with 16 sponsors and has grown to nearly 50 participants who participate in the API RBI review and development process. The Project was initiated in May 1993 by an industry sponsored group to develop and standardize practical methods for Risk-Based Inspection (RBI). The results of this project are maintained and published in API Publication 581, Risk-Based Inspection Technology. The accompanying software package, developed by The Equity Engineering Group, provides an efficient mode of applying the methodology in an individual unit or plant. The technology is updated by the API 581 Committee and these changes are implemented into the software.
