Kim Galante
Ms. Galante specializes in providing materials and corrosion technical support for refining operations. Having worked for owner-operators the majority of her career, she has acquired skills in unit corrosion monitoring and damage mechanism identification, materials selection, Fitness-For-Service and repair strategies, as well as Risk-Based Inspection and risk-based work selection principles. She is familiar with the majority of the typical unit types found in complex refineries (e.g., HDS, delayed cokers, FCCU, SWS), with a particular area of expertise in crude unit corrosion including atmospheric overhead corrosion control and crude slate evaluations. Finally, she has written a number of MOEs which have been used to improve equipment reliability, control unit operations at the operator level and train both operations and technical staff on unit-specific degradation mechanisms.
Ms. Galante maintains active API 510 and API 570 Inspector certifications. In addition, she has held an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. Along with her familiarity with industry fabrication codes such as ASME Sect VIII and ASME B31.3, these certifications provide her with the proper insight for effective support of inspection and/or mechanical groups in their day-to-day activities as well as unit shutdown planning and support.
Ms. Galante is a member of NACE and has actively contributed to a number of API publications and revisions.
