Mechanical Engineer Cleveland Office

As industry leaders in Fitness-for-Service, E2G offers an excellent opportunity for industry exposure. The job opening for the Mechanical Engineer in the Pressure Equipment/Fitness-for-Service (FFS) area is located at the Corporate Headquarters in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Performs ASME and API Code calculations for pressure equipment, in support of design reviews, certification and re-rates of existing equipment.
    • Performs FFS assessments of existing equipment using API RP 579 Fitness-for-Service.
    • Performs Finite Element modeling and stress analysis to support FFS evaluations, failure investigations, new equipment design and repairs.
    • Supports turnarounds and failure analysis investigations at client’s facilities by providing on-site "problem solving" support.
    • Provides mechanical engineering support to other groups at E2G, including metallurgy, welding and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI).
    • Assists in the development and presentation of training courses.
    • Develops proposals for work, supports FFS group projects, and performs other administrative job-tracking and time-keeping tasks.
    • Assists with technology development related to international standards and publications.
    • Mentors less experienced engineers within E2G.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • A Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • A minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in refinery or chemical plant pressure equipment (pressure Vessel, Piping, Heat Exchanger, Tanks and Fired Heaters).
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; possession of a valid applicable state driver’s license and insurable driving records; possession of an active U.S. Passport.
    • Experience in the role of reliability, maintenance, inspection or fixed equipment engineer within a plant environment.
    • Experience in turnaround support and turnaround work processes.
    • Ability to pass required client workplace drug and alcohol screening test.
    • Ability to obtain a professional engineering license within three years.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills, coupled with a proven ability to multi-task.
    • Proven ability to develop project execution strategies and plans in order to deliver projects on time, while maintaining focus on technical excellence.
    • A strong work ethic and the desire for a challenging, rewarding and progressive work environment.
    • Knowledgeable in the areas of ASME and API Codes and Standards related to the design, inspection, maintenance and evaluation of fixed equipment.
    • Ability to interface with clients at all levels, (i.e. engineers, managers, operators and mechanics).
    • Availability to travel up to 25% of time for both short and mid-term assignments.
    • Experience in implementation of PSM and RBI processes, would be helpful.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to make effective presentations.

Pressure Vessel Engineer Cleveland or Houston Office

The job opening for the Mechanical Engineer in the Pressure Equipment/Fitness-for-Service (FFS) area is located at the Corporate Headquarters in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Mentors less experienced engineers within E2G.
    • Projects may potentially include FFS or FEA analysis. Training in those areas would be offered.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • A Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • A minimum of 2 years of applicable design experience in typical refinery or chemical plant pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; possession of a valid applicable state driver’s license and insurable driving records; possession of an active U.S. Passport.
    • Ability to obtain a professional engineering license within three years.

Experienced refining industry Materials/Corrosion Engineer Cleveland Office

The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:

  • 7-15 yrs experience in an owner-user oil company as a materials/corrosion engineer focusing on plant support (not primarily on capital projects). Refinery experience and having additional central engineering experience would be a plus
  • Desire to work hard and has a reasonable tolerance for travel
  • Wants to join a fast-growing entrepreneurial company and our team of industry-leading materials, mechanical, and software engineers
  • Desires to live in Northeast Ohio, a very livable area with moderate cost of living
  • Has excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and can be a credible expert with customers
  • Has a desire to help mentor new graduate engineers
  • Has a PE or is able to attain the PE within 2 years
  • Is a US citizen, US resident alien or Canadian citizen, and currently resides in North America
  • Is familiar with process unit corrosion studies and inspection planning, physical metallurgy, FFS, and RBI

Staff Programming Specialist in our Cleveland Office
  • DEFINITION Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Information Technology, the Staff Programming Specialist supports the lead programmer on software product development and enhancement.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Designs, implements, and tests a Java based user interface to integrate with an existing FORTRAN application; designs and creates graphic layouts, supports the lead programmer on software product development and enhancement, software testing and troubleshooting.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS B.S. Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of:
    • Several programming languages including C/C++, MySQL, PHP, and FORTRAN
    • Java Programming.
    • User interface design and implementation; applicable computer software.

    Ability to:
    • Design and create graphic layouts.
    • Understand complex systems utilizing multiple programming languages.
    • Comprehend and modify existing source code.

Experienced Engineer in our Houston Office

The ideal candidate would have 10+ years experience in the refining and/or chemical industry, preferably with an operating company, with proven technical skills in the areas of materials/corrosion, Risk Based Inspection and/or Fitness for Service. Effective communication skills at all levels within a client business organization is required.

Mid Level Engineer in our Houston Office

The ideal candidate would have 3 to 5 years experience in the refining and/or chemical industry, preferably with an operating company, with strong skill levels in mechanical or materials/corrosion engineering and exposure to materials/corrosion, Risk based inspection, fitness for service or plant application of inspection technologies. Individual must be able to take initiative and be self-motivated while working largely independently on plant problem recognition and resolution.
