Bringing Cathodic Protection Design to the Web

by Aaron J. Stenta, Ph.D. / January 2018

Corrosion is a daunting menace inherently present in nearly all industries, and, if not properly monitored and managed, can significantly reduce the operational lifecycle and overall safety of a process or asset.  An internationally accepted method of corrosion control and prevention is cathodic protection (CP), wherein an external power source or electrically-connected, more active metal is used to reverse and control the path of corrosion.  In response to this ever-present concern, E2G has released a suite of cathodic protection design apps through the web-based application platform, the Equity Engineering Cloud (EEC), to assist engineers in their design of both onshore and offshore applications.
