Evaluating Large, Aboveground Storage Tanks Subject to Seismic Loading, Part 1
Protecting the dynamic response of large, aboveground storage tanks exposed to seismic loading is complex. The intent of this article is to summarize simplified analysis techniques that can be employed to evaluate aboveground storage tanks subject to seismic loading. This article summarizes the first portion of a two-part series. A summary of the second part of this work, which involves explicit dynamic analysis with fluid sloshing effects, will be published in the next volume of E2G Industry Insights.
